Reba James
LCSW

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. Reba was born in Grenada, West Indies and migrated to New York City with her family. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rochester with a major in Political Science. Reba went on to earn her Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by her LCSW.
Reba has worked in a variety of clinical settings such as group homes, residential treatment facilities, crisis centers, detention centers, a juvenile drug court, and outpatient practice. Her clinical experiences include working with children, adolescents, and adults from a variety of ethnic, racial, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation exceptionalities, religious, geographical areas, and academic/professional background. Reba has worked with an array of mental illnesses, but she acknowledges that she has a passion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
She creates an open and safe environment where true thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Reba considers herself to be a serious-minded person who believes in strong work-ethics and is detailed-oriented. She also considers herself to be a social, fun, and open-minded person. One of her favorite quotes is, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” (Steve Jobs)
