Laurel Stewardson
LPC

I know life can be very challenging and unpredictable. Whether this is your first time seeking counseling or you've seen a counselor before, I am here to help. I have been in the mental health field for 8 years and started my career working with adolescents and families in crisis. I then moved on to working with adult inmates in the correctional setting. My areas of experience include, anxiety and stress, depression and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and substance abuse disorders.
I obtained my master's degree in counseling from George Mason University in 2017 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of VA. I utilize several different counseling techniques including, solution-focused, CBT, and mindfulness. Additionally, when treating my clients I use a psychodynamic and trauma-informed approach that takes into account the entire history of a person that makes up who they are.
I know that every person is unique and I treat every client with that perspective. If you're ready to begin the path to healing, I would be honored to work with you. Please reach out to me for in-person and Telehealth services.
